Coming to you from Nigel Danson, this great video talks about five common mistakes beginners make when using Lightroom. Personally, the biggest mistake I made when I was new to the program was ignoring good organizational practices. For the longest time, I just relied on the date system to find my photos, but of course, over time, as I built up a larger and larger catalog, it became more and more difficult to find what I was looking for. I finally bit the bullet after a few years and spent a weekend watching movies and keywording my images, rating them, and putting them into collections, and nowadays, I can actually find what I’m looking for and easily pull up a client’s images if they need them again at some point. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Danson.
