Common Post-Processing Mistakes Made by Beginners
Working in Lightroom and Photoshop (or your post-processing programs of choice) takes the confluence of a wide range of knowledge and technique along with a good creative eye, and it can be a bit tricky to bring them together all at once, even for seasoned photographers. This excellent video discusses three common mistakes beginners make when they are learning about post-processing their photos and how to fix them.
Coming to you from Anthony Morganti, this great video details three common post-processing mistakes beginners make. One mistake that I know I made plenty of times and that we are all still capable of making is simply going too far with an edit, whether that is pushing the saturation slider too far to the right or making the HDR too garish. Restraint is often the name of the game when it comes to photo-editing. One trick I have found to help me is to finish an edit, then step away from my computer for a minute or two before I export the image. This helps me to evaluate the photo one more time with a fresh pair of eyes, and often, I will tone down the edit or find some mistake I missed. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Morganti.
