Wedding Photographer Offers Clients Incredible Wedding Adventure Sessions
Wedding photography has evolved into a stunning genre of photography. Photographers across the globe are bringing a level of creativity to wedding photography that elevates the images into something more than just photo-documentation.
Canadian photographer Carey Nash has been offering unique wedding portrait sessions that he refers to as “adventure sessions.” Doing so has allowed him to capture some incredibly epic portraits set against landscapes that are to die for.
Nash is well traveled, having worked and shot in over 75 countries. He admits that the draw to find remote and interesting places on Earth still consumes him.
About eight years ago, I took a couple out into the desert the day after their wedding to take a few more pictures…this time without any time constraints. At their destination wedding at a resort, I figured they flew all this way to get married, so we should showcase the landscape and culture of the area. What started that evening was the first of many Adventure Sessions. I am an avid traveler, and when shooting at a destination, I wanted to create images that mirror the sense of exploration, the environment, and the people that surround it. My couples deserve to bring home not just photos of themselves, but a reminder of the beauty of the area that is also artwork that they can display.
Nash explains that anyone can have an adventure session. Whether it’s the day after a wedding (sometimes referred to as “day after” shoots or “trash the dress” sessions) or during an anniversary, going the extra mile to arrange portraits at a location away from the wedding venue can be a great way for your couples to take a piece of their wedding location home with them – something that is especially important to destination wedding couples.
